Explore Downtown St. Cloud

Updated: Apr 21

Downtown and the East side of St. Cloud is full of entertainment and livelihood - no matter what you're into!

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, which is why it’s super important to start off on the right foot at Copper Lantern Restaurant! This place embodies comfort food, and dishes up classics like country fried steak and eggs, corned beef and hash, eggs benedict, and more.

Once you’ve gotten your fill, get ready to explore the great outdoors at George Friedrich Park – home to several former granite mining quarries and easy, walkable trails. Or if you’d like to appreciate winter a little more conveniently, head downtown to the Beaver Island Trail Extension below the River’s Edge Convention Center for a stunning view of the Mississippi River.

Now it’s time to warm up, with a trip to Bella Vita Salt Caves. These incredible caves promote a wide variety of benefits for your heath, affecting everything from weight loss and pain relief to relieving stress and lowering blood pressure. Talk about relaxation!

Once you’ve totally found your zen, it’s time for some shopping. Head just down the street to Green Thumb Etc. for snarky, fun home décor and gifts. Then stop over to Cinnamon Lifestyle Boutique for trendy clothing and accessories. Into the outdoors? Fitzharris Ski, Bike & Outdoor is a must-visit for all of your outdoor gear. Or if running is more you think, stop by the Endurunce Shop for the best running shoes and accessories in the business. All of this and more is located in a walkable distance downtown St. Cloud!

After you’ve hit up all the shops, it’s time for lunch at Jules’ Bistro. They offer a unique menu of flatbreads, sandwiches, salads and more plus great bakery items and coffee. It’s the perfect lunch spot!

When you’ve gotten your fill, head over to your reservation at St. Cloud Escape Rooms. Use teamwork and critical thinking to find your way out of one of the themed rooms in 60 minutes or less. Then let the games continue with a trip to Beaver Island Brewing Company. The first brewery in St. Cloud, Beaver Island serves up a wide variety of beer in a cozy atmosphere, where a game of cribbage is highly encouraged! Play some games, drink some beer, and when you’re done with the entertainment, it’s time for arts.

Check out the current artist on display at The Whit Gallery on West Saint Germain, where a mix of major and local artists showcase their works in an upscale environment. After that, get ready for a pre-show dinner at Olde Brick House downtown St. Cloud. This traditional Irish pub serves up classic and new dishes in a cozy, ornate environment. As they say, there are no strangers here – only friends you haven’t met yet. Now back to the entertainment portion of the evening! Catch a show at one of many venues, including Pioneer Place on Fifth, The Paramount Theater, and even The Red Carpet Event Centerwhich ever one has your favorite show in the lineup. All are home to a variety of plays, musicals, concerts, comedy and more.

Finally, cap off the evening with a drink at The White Horse or The Veranda Lounge and then collapse into comfort at The Best Western Kelly Inn, with sweeping views of the Mississippi River.

Don't forget to fuel up before you leave town - with caffiene, that is. Make a stop at Korppi Coffee + Bakeshop before you head out for great coffee drinks and tasty bakery treats for the road. Enjoy!
