Sip, Shop, and Create in St. Joseph

Updated: Apr 21

Sippin' and shoppin', what could be better? Sprinkle in a little creativity, and you have a perfect day in St. Joseph.

Start your day at The Local Blend coffee shop for a sip of some hot beverages and great locally sourced food. Then get ready to do some shopping! Take a short stroll over to shop Hudson & Co, a sweet little gift shop with lots of trendy clothing and great gift ideas. Then head down the street to Weathered Revivals for gorgeous home goods, candles and more. Pop on over next door to Minnesota Street Market for locally sourced groceries and art from over 30 different Minnesota artisans.

Now it's time for some more sips of some delicious drinks. Stop #1 is Bad Habit Brewing, where you can try a wide variety of amazing locally brewed craft beer. Plus, you can order in Bo Diddley's Deli for lunch, which is a must-try! Then, head out to the country to Milk & Honey Ciders. Voted the best cidery in the United States by USA Today, this rural taproom serves up amazing locally brewed hard ciders in a picturesque setting.

Time to get creative! Stop by the shop at Bruno Press during the Valentines Day open house on February 5th from 10am to 2pm where people can print their own Valentine and learn about the history of Letterpress printing with 100 year old printing presses. Or you can schedule your own private letterpress workshop with Mary by clicking here.

Or check out some incredible local pottery! The pottery studio at St. John's University is known worldwide. Visitors are welcome to check out the art Monday through Friday 1:15–4:30 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m.–4:30 p.m. It is recommended to schedule a tour in advance by calling (320) 363-2930. The Saint John's Pottery is located below Saint Joseph Hall, south of the Saint John's Art Center. If possible, try to stop by for a sip of 3 p.m. afternoon tea at the irori table.

Getting hungry? Enjoy some more sips of fine wine and great Italian cuisine at Bello Cucina. Finally, check in to your room at The Estates Bed & Breakfast to get settled before you pop into any of the fine watering holes and enjoy a few more sips at Sal's or The Middy!

The check in location for this itinerary is Bruno Press (please visit the shop, not the house at this address)
